Overdose Data to Action: OD2A

Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) is a 5-year Center for Disease Control and Prevention Cooperative Agreement that provides local jurisdictions resources to develop overdose surveillance infrastructure, prevention, and harm reduction activities.

Objectives

  • Establish overdose surveillance systems.

  • Promote prevention and harm reduction practices.

  • Foster partnerships among community organizations, health systems, public safety, and stakeholders.

Key Activities:

  • Identifying individuals at risk of overdose.

  • Connecting individuals to care and harm reduction services.

  • Enhancing overdose prevention strategies through evaluation and data-driven approaches.

Partnerships

Mecklenburg County Public Health Department collaborates with Drs. Travis Hales and Mike Dulin from UNC Charlotte's School of Social Work and the Academy for Population Health Innovation to strengthen overdose surveillance and evaluate OD2A activities.
